You heard it – China Town in Las Vegas. An unlikely attraction in Vegas, hardly a site comparable to San Francisco China Town, still it’s a place to enjoy the annual New Year Festival. Here are all the elements of a successful and fun festival: Booths sell all kinds of Asian food, souvenirs, baboo plants, swords, costumes and clothes with traditional flare and a painful lack of parking spots. A huge stage hosts colorful dancing performances, spectacular kung-fu shows, magic tricks, astonishing drums and finally the Dragon Dance!

As always, I have a personal favorite reason to enjoy the Festival. It is the Boba Tea. For those unfamiliar with the drink, it’s Thai Milk Tea with Boba. Boba are actually tapoica seeds 🙂 The drink is sweet, milky, the boba are chewy and chocalaty-caramely, so – pure delight! However, as good as it sounds, Boba Tea does not appeal to everyone. My Love, for example, has difficult time taming his disgust to the drink, which is the main reason I have it only couple times a year. It’s called “compromising” 🙂

Ana, i haven’t heard about the Bubble tea, but I’m in to try it if it isn’t the same Boba tea! from the looks of it, it can well be the same tea. Gotta go & Google it : )
Boba tea sounds… interesting! I’ll reserve judgement but the best thing about it is that it doesn’t sound like ordinary tea (of which I’m not a fan- especially not with milk and sugar) But I do know I love those drums, and the dragons 🙂 Let’s dance!
Can’t promise a Dragon, – they are not quite native to the area 😉 – but here’s to having a nice cup of Boba tea & drums!
